Konstantin Kosachev: Russian and UAE parliamentarians closely coordinate across international platforms

The Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council met with UAE Ambassador to the Russian Federation to discuss the current developments in the Middle East.

Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Russian Federation Mohammed Al Jaber. The meeting was also attended by Arsen Kanokov, senator and head of the group for the Federation Council’s cooperation with the UAE Federal National Council.

Konstantin Kosachev noted that relations between Russia and the UAE are advancing positively. “The dynamic is manifested through the level of interaction between our countries’ leaders as well as the regular nature of their contacts. At the same time, the parliamentary dimension of these relations also plays a significant role. The activities of the friendship groups of the Federation Council and the UAE Federal National Council have intensified. Parliamentarians from both countries engage in cooperation within the Inter-Parliamentary Union and maintain close coordination across various international platforms. This once again demonstrates that our nations are aligned in strengthening friendly relations,” Konstantin Kosachev stated.

Mohammed Al Jaber, in turn, spoke highly of Russia-UAE relations, pointing to the greater levels of mutual trade and tourism.

According to the Ambassador, the leadership of his country remains committed to further developing cooperation with the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, Konstantin Kosachev and Mohammed Al Jaber also held a thorough discussion on the events unfolding in the Middle East.

Federation Council Deputy Speaker emphasised that the Russian parliament is closely following developments in the region. “We are convinced that all parties must show restraint and recognise that third countries, where possible, should remain outside the escalating conflict,” Konstantin Kosachev stressed.
