Cooperation between Russia and Oman continues to develop despite the current situation, the senator said.
Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Mokhmad Akhmadov has met with an Omani delegation led by Deputy Minister of Heritage and Tourism of the Sultanate of Oman Azzan bin Qassim Al Busaidi (Undersecretary for Tourism) to discuss the development of tourism cooperation. The meeting was held at the Embassy of Oman to Russia.
The sides exchanged views on holding a joint exhibition of tourism projects at the Federation Council.
“Our meeting has confirmed that Russia and Oman continue to develop cooperation in the sphere of tourism despite the current situation. We hope that the mutual tourist flow will recover and grow and that our joint projects will gather momentum following the normalisation of the situation,” Mokhmad Akhmadov stated.
He noted that the successful development of bilateral relations was promoted by meetings between members of the Federation Council’s group for cooperation with the Council of State (upper house of parliament) of the Sultanate of Oman held to discuss tourism and the implementation of joint investment projects.
The senator also took part in a meeting between the Omani delegation and Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Vakhrukov.
