Airat Gibatdinov and Natalia Kuvshinova take part in parliamentary committee meetings during 11th IPU World Conference of Young Parliamentarians

The Inter-Parliamentary Union event titled “Uniting Generations for Gender Equality” took place in Lima, Peru, on 11–13 September.


Natalia Kuvshinova, Member of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building, spoke at the Assessing the Advancement of the Global Agenda for Gender Equality session.

The senator highlighted the steady increase in the proportion of women engaged in public and political life, as well as in state and municipal administration, including in senior leadership positions, across the Russian Federation.

Natalia Kuvshinova also presented information on initiatives being implemented in Russia under the national projects Family and Youth and Children.

In addition, she reported on preparations for two major upcoming international events to be hosted in Russia in 2027: the Fifth Eurasian Women’s Forum and the next Nevsky International Ecological Congress.

Airat Gibatdinov, Member of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education, and Culture, delivered a report for the Energy and Mines Commission of the Republic of Peru’s Congress. The senator outlined Russia’s achievements in the energy sector, which plays a vital role in ensuring stability in global energy markets.

During the conferential events, Airat Gibatdinov also presented the work of the Chamber of Young Legislators under the Federation Council, emphasising the importance of expanding international youth cooperation, including in parliamentary activities, as a means of strengthening ties between Russia and foreign states.

At the invitation of the leadership of the Congress of the Republic of Peru, the Russian senators participated in extended meetings of parliamentary commissions.

While in Lima, they also held talks with President of the Congress of the Republic of Peru José Enrique Jerí Oré and Second Vice President Waldemar José Cerrón Rojas.

During the conference, discussions were additionally held with parliamentarians from Bolivia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Ghana, the Dominican Republic, and Serbia.

The 11th IPU World Conference of Young Parliamentarians brought together over 300 participants from 43 countries.
