The Senator read out the Federation Council Speaker's greetings to the forum participants.
The 2nd BRICS Women’s Entrepreneurship Forum opened in Moscow, attended by about 1,000 guests from more than 30 countries.
Galina Karelova, Chair of the Eurasian Women's Forum Council (EWF) and First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Government and Northern Affairs, took part in the opening ceremony.
She read out the greetings of Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko. The Speaker noted that the initiatives of women entrepreneurs from the BRICS countries could provide additional impetus for the implementation of the association's practical agenda. “Women play a significant role in the development of regions, successfully apply advanced technologies at industrial and agro-industrial enterprises, actively carry out environmental projects, and make a significant contribution to science, art and culture. The forum brings such women together – real leaders, heads of organisations operating in a variety of areas,” underscored Valentina Matvienko.
In her presentation, Galina Karelova said that women have initiated a number of new working formats of cooperation within BRICS, including the effective Women's Business Alliance. The Senator emphasised that the development of women's entrepreneurship has become a common trend in the BRICS countries.
“The BRICS Women’s Entrepreneurship Forum will play an important role in strengthening mutually beneficial ties, fostering business and friendly contacts, creating new opportunities for international partnership, and developing infrastructure to support women's entrepreneurship in the BRICS countries,” said Galina Karelova.
Participants of the 2nd BRICS Women's Entrepreneurship Forum will discuss the future financial architecture of the association and its role in global financial processes, as well as innovative financial instruments and investment strategies. They will also focus on cooperation in the health sector and women's participation in the BRICS countries' efforts to improve access to quality healthcare services, disease prevention, and the use of artificial intelligence.
