The Deputy Speaker noted the importance of expanding the dialogue among legislators for effective cooperation in all areas.
Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council and Head of the Federation Council Friendship Group with the Arab Republic of Egypt Inna Svyatenko discussed efforts to intensify the dialogue between the two countries’ legislators with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Egypt to the Russian Federation Nazih El Naggary.
According to Inna Svyatenko, coordinating parliamentarians’ actions enhances the effectiveness of the relevant ministries and agencies, especially when the adopted decisions require legislative support, including the conclusion of intergovernmental agreements. “Today, when new promising areas of bilateral cooperation are being established, such interaction takes on special significance,” the Deputy Speaker said.
During the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt Nazih El Naggary emphasised that inter-parliamentary cooperation is particularly important in legislative activities and serves to broaden the scope of interaction in general.
“We will promote cultural exchanges and a greater tourist flow, as well as cooperation in higher education, which will increase the number of Egyptian students studying in various fields in the Russian Federation,” Inna Svyatenko added.
The parties also touched on organising a meeting between the Federation Council and the Egyptian Senate cooperation groups in a videoconference format.
