Grigory Karasin: Russian companies can join economic and investment projects in the Central African Republic

The senators are ready to help implement these projects, the MP stated.

Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Grigory Karasin met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Central African Republic Leon Dodonou-Pounagaza.

“Constructive ties between Moscow and Bangui remain unaffected by changing political considerations. They demonstrate positive dynamics and should serve as an example for expanding bilateral economic collaboration,” Grigory Karasin said.

According to Grigory Karasin, the senators are committed to further expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation between Russia and the Central African Republic. In his opinion, Russian companies can join multiple large-scale projects, including the development of mineral deposits, as well as the delivery of industrial equipment and farming machinery.

Leon Dodonou-Pounagaza emphasised Russia’s role in his country’s formation and development. The Ambassador noted that Russia and the Central African Republic have a solid foundation for expanding their collaboration, primarily in trade, the economy, culture and humanitarian sphere.

During their conversation, the officials discussed specific projects in these fields, as well as practical measures to upgrade the bilateral contractual and legal framework.
