Grigory Karasin: Involving compatriots in educational and awareness pro-jects will help combat anti-Russia ideological campaigns

The Senator addressed a plenary meeting of the 8th World Congress of Compatriots Living Abroad.

Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Grigory Karasin took part in the 8th World Congress of Compatriots Living Abroad. Its theme was Together with Russia. The Senator spoke at the plenary session dedicated to the protection of traditional and family values.

He pointed out that Russia stood in the vanguard of the struggle for the right of nations to protect their traditions and national identity against the destructive neo-liberal narratives, which the collective West is imposing on many states with blatantly neo-colonial methods.

“Russia and the global majority countries are openly combating the West’s ideological dictate and advocating more democratic international relations and the development of mutually beneficial humanitarian ties between nations based on national traditions and cultural sovereignty,” Grigory Karasin noted.

He said that it was important to tell foreign public about Russia’s simple idea for the world, that is, maintaining normalcy and common sense as the only alternative to the West’s destructive neo-liberal ideology.

The Senator highlighted the Russian compatriots’ important role in promoting the Russian language and culture and their ability to use our thousand-years-long history to inform the international community about Russia’s cultural wealth and contribution to humanity’s development. Grigory Karasin added that the legislators would continue to promote cultural diplomacy and the cohesion of the Russian World’s humanitarian space.

“It is important to more actively involve our compatriots in large-scale educational and awareness projects. This will reinforce our resistance to anti-Russia ideological campaigns and help tell the truth about our country, its culture and history to the international community,” Grigory Karasin said in conclusion.
