Galina Karelova: EWF Council projects promote women’s involvement in the economy, charity, international cooperation

The senator led a webinar on Modern Women’s Agenda and Eurasian Women’s Forum Projects.

Chair of the Eurasian Women’s Forum Council, Russian Senator Galina Karelova held a webinar on Modern Women’s Agenda and Eurasian Women’s Forum Projects.

Opening the meeting, the parliamentarian mentioned some of the most relevant issues on the modern women’s agenda. She explained how women become leaders, what they can do and are already doing, how women are consolidating efforts to make the world a better and fairer place, how the Eurasian Women’s Forum serves this purpose and what its projects are dedicated to.

The webinar was organised for three cohorts of participants of the Woman Leader programme implemented since 2020 at the Senezh Public Management Workshop, part of the Russia – Land of Opportunity presidential platform, and supported by the Federation Council’s EWF Council. The programme currently caters to more than 400 women from different Russian and foreign cities. The purpose of their training is to develop leadership skills and competencies needed to implement social projects.

“This audience in itself is actually a reflection of the modern women’s agenda, with its leading trends such as online training for women, social entrepreneurship, inclusion, further empowerment of women in society and the economy,” Galina Karelova said.

The senator spoke about the EWF Council’s projects aimed at promoting women’s involvement in various industries, digital economy, corporate philanthropy, development of territories, and international cooperation. “Effective teams are working to implement these projects. It is quite possible that some of you will join this wonderful community in the future,” she said.

Galina Karelova also spoke about the programme of the forthcoming 4th Eurasian Women’s Forum, themed Confidence Building and Global Cooperation. Representatives of over 90 countries have already confirmed their participation in this year’s event. The main events at the forum will be an inter-parliamentary dialogue between women parliamentarians, statespersons, and representatives of international organisations, as well as the BRICS Women’s Forum, and an open session of the Women Twenty (W20).

“The Forum will be an open event, as always, and can be followed online. We really do hope that it will become an important event for Russia and other countries, and will promote trust and cooperation of women for the sake of good and peace,” the head of the EWF Council concluded.
