Vladimir Dzhabarov informs CSTO member states’ parliamentarians that Russia intends to suspend its participation in OSCE PA

The Senator took part in a coordination meeting of the CSTO heads of parliamentary delegations to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

Vladimir Dzhabarov, First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, took part in a coordination meeting of the CSTO heads of parliamentary delegations to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. The meeting was held via videoconference.

During the meeting, the Senator informed the parliamentarians that the Russian delegation intended to suspend its participation in the OSCE PA. The regular session of the Assembly is scheduled to take place on June 29 – July 3 in Bucharest.

According to the Senator, the Russian Foreign Ministry received a note from the Romanian Foreign Ministry informing it that none of the members of the Russian delegation would be granted an entry visa or permission to enter the country. He added that the Russian delegation had already been denied access to participate in sessions in the UK, Poland and Canada.

“Due to these developments, the Federation Council and the State Duma will submit draft resolutions suspending the Russian delegation’s participation in the work of the OSCE PA for consideration by parliamentarians, after which the decision will be sent to the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly,” Vladimir Dzhabarov said.
