The officials continued the work to implement the agreements reached at the Russian-Cuban high-level meetings.
Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Grigory Karasin held a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cuba Carlos Fernandez de Cossio.
The meeting was attended by First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Sergei Kislyak and members of the Group for the Federation Council’s Cooperation with the National Assembly of People’s Power of the Republic of Cuba − Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy Dmitry Vorona and member of the Federation Council Committee on the Budget and Financial Markets Dina Oyun.
Grigory Karasin noted that relations between Russia and Cuba were friendly and based on mutual trust and respect. He praised Cuba’s intention to develop cooperation with BRICS.
“As lawmakers, we constantly work to find new forms of bilateral interaction,” Grigory Karasin stressed.
The participants discussed practical cooperation issues complementing and developing the agreements reached at the government level. Specifically, they focused on lawmakers’ participation in international events, tourism, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including the project to open a branch of the Russian Museum in Havana.
