Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council addressed the opening ceremony of the Made in Russia festival and fair in the PRC.
Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Nikolai Zhuravlev paid a working visit to the PRC and attended the opening ceremony for the first Made in Russia festival and fair of Russian goods. The event was organised in the city of Shenyang by the Russian Export Centre (REC) with support from the Russian Government and the Government of Liaoning Province.
In his remarks, the Senator said that the festival and fair will strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
“It is a special event for us to share our achievements with our Chinese colleagues. Russia has brought almost 1,500 commodities that are well-known and loved in every Russian home. We are confident that these products will find their consumers in China,” Nikolai Zhuravlev said.
He added that the Federation Council was sincerely interested in expanding bilateral cooperation, reminding his audience that a Federation Council delegation led by Speaker Valentina Matvienko paid an official visit to China in 2023. Among other places, the senators visited Liaoning Province.
Nikolai Zhuravlev highlighted the role of Russian regions in promoting regional goods and boosting exports under the Made in Russia brand jointly with the REC.
He noted that inter-regional cooperation was a special aspect of the relationship between the two countries. Currently, two-thirds of Russian regions maintain ties with Chinese provinces and the number of cooperation contracts is growing.
“Our task is to continue building up mutual trade and develop and maintain economic interaction between regions and our countries as a whole. We place great importance on our dialogue with China and seek to intensify our relations in all areas, from economy and culture to education and tourism,” he stressed.
Nikolai Zhuravlev wished all participants in the festival and fair successful work.
The Made in Russia festival and fair will be held in China from 27 January to 5 February. It is planned that, apart from Shenyang, the festival will soon be opened in the city of Dalian.
