The Russian senator informed the ambassador of the terrorist methods employed by the Kiev regime.
Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Grigory Karasin met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to the Russian Federation Tanju Bilgic. The conversation was attended by Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy Murat Khapsirokov who also heads the group on cooperation between the Federation Council and the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
Grigory Karasin stressed that the start of the Turkish ambassador’s work in Moscow coincided with the worsening of international tensions.
“The Ukrainian armed forces’ missile attack on the Ilyushin IL-76 Russian military transport aircraft over the Belgorod Region is an act of international terrorism. These actions demand condemnation and adequate assessment. We hope that Ankara will respond appropriately to this crime of the Kiev regime,” the Senator said.
The conversation continued with preparations for high-level parliamentary contacts between the two countries.
The Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs noted that Russian senators had offered to host in the Federation Council a delegation of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye headed by its chairman and a delegation of the Turkish Parliament's Commission on International Affairs.
The interest of Russian parliamentarians in deepening and expanding the entire range of bilateral cooperation was underscored.
The Senator also informed the ambassador about the invitations extended to representatives of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye to take part in international observer mission for the presidential election in Russia in March 2024.
The head of the Turkish diplomatic mission noted the positive atmosphere of bilateral interstate relations and interparliamentary cooperation.
Tanju Bilgic said he would facilitate the participation of Turkish parliamentarians as international observers in the upcoming election via diplomatic channels.
