Grigory Karasin meets with journalists from CIS countries

The meeting brought together over 30 media representatives, who had the opportunity to ask the senator questions on an extensive scope of issues.

Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Grigory Karasin held a meeting with journalists representing CIS countries. This gathering was part of the InterNovosti media school organised by the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo).

The event was attended by more than 30 media representatives from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Transnistria, and Uzbekistan.

Their open and direct dialogue covered nearly the entire scope of the current international agenda, addressing such issues as Russia’ stance on specific CIS countries, its influence on political and economic developments in the neighbouring countries, Russia’s foreign and domestic policies, its work with compatriots living abroad, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

During the conversation, Mr Karasin provided substantive answers to journalists’ questions.
