Konstantin Kosachev: In 2023, schoolchildren from EAEU countries will be invited to the Memory Train project

Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council held a meeting on preparations for the Memory Train cultural and educational patriotic project in 2023.


Deputy Speaker Konstantin Kosachev chaired the first meeting on preparations for the Memory Train cultural and educational patriotic project, which is scheduled for 2023.

Dmitry Mezentsev, Secretary of State of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, addressed the audience with a welcoming address in which he spoke about the Union State’s support of the Memory Train project.

Konstantin Kosachev noted that as a result of thorough preparations, the first project was held at the highest organisational, cultural and educational level. ”We start preparations for the second Memory Train in advance to make the project even better and more interesting,“ the Deputy Speaker said.

He said that in 2023, in addition to Russian and Belarusian schoolchildren, their peers from Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will be invited to participate in the project. Logistic issues will be worked out in the course of further consultations.

The meeting was attended by Lilia Gumerova, Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture, Grigory Karasin, Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, Dmitry Pegov, Deputy Director General of JSC Russian Railways, Yury Nagornykh, Russian Railways Director for Communications/Head of Department for Interaction with Federal and Regional Authorities, Natalia Mandrova, Head of the Bolshaya Peremena non-profit organisation.

During the meeting, the participants summed up the project in 2022, discussed its organisational and financial support in 2023 and made proposals on the Memory Train route in 2023.
