The Deputy Federation Council Speaker received the Ambassador of Belarus to Russia.
Deputy Federation Council Speaker Yury Vorobyov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi. Grigory Karasin, Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, attended the meeting.
The parties discussed issues of bilateral inter-regional interaction and preparations for the 10th Forum of Russian and Belarusian Regions, including the forum’s youth events. They also discussed the schedule for inter-parliamentary meetings.
Yury Vorobyov said the regional agenda was the most important aspect of bilateral ties.
“The Forum of Russian and Belarusian Regions aims to promote the process of both countries’ subsequent integration,” the Deputy Federation Council Speaker said.
The members of the Russian Parliament are committed to promoting interaction with their Belarusian colleagues, Grigory Karasin added.
According to Dmitry Krutoi, the leadership of the Republic of Belarus praises the parliamentary aspect of Russian-Belarusian relations and is closely following the preparations for the 10th Forum of Russian and Belarusian Regions, which is an additional impulse for large-scale regional cooperation.
