The parliamentarians are interested in strengthening bilateral ties between Russia and Mongolia.
Members of the Federation Council Working Group for Cooperation with the State Great Khural of Mongolia held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Russian Federation Olziisaikhany Enkhtuvshin.
The meeting was attended by First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture and Head of the Federation Council Working Group for Cooperation with the State Great Khural Iliyas Umakhanov, members of the group – Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Bair Zhamsuyev, member of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Sergei Mikhailov, First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on the Rules of Procedure and Parliamentary Governance Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn, member of the Federation Council Committee on the Budget and Financial Markets Dina Oyun, and member of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Andrey Chernyshev.
According to Bair Zhamsuyev, the meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere, and the members of the group were made welcome at the Embassy.
“We discussed current issues of Russia-Mongolia relations. The senators are interested in further strengthening bilateral ties and friendship between the peoples of the two countries,” Bair Zhamsuyev said.
“Last year was a landmark year for Mongolia. On 11 July 2021, Mongolia celebrated the 100th anniversary of the People’s Revolution that led to the creation of the contemporary Mongolian state. Our country was the first to recognise the Mongolian People’s Republic. Numerous joint events were held to mark the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Mongolia last year. Comprehensive strategic partnership relations between the two states are accompanied by a working mechanism of inter-government and inter-parliamentary interaction. The work of the Federation Council Working Group for Cooperation with the State Great Khural of Mongolia and the Mongolian Parliament has been praised. We have extensive plans for future work,” the senator said.
