The Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan.
Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Iliyas Umakhanov held a meeting with Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Farit Mukhametshin.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation as well as key aspects on the regional and international agenda.
Iliyas Umakhanov praised the high level of Russian-Azerbaijani cooperation.
“We believe the key is the trustworthy relationship between the presidents of our countries,” he stressed.
“Inter-parliamentary ties are expanding. We have a number of formats in which we are actively cooperating, including the Inter-parliamentary Commission of the Russian Federation Council and the Parliament of Azerbaijan as well as the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and other inter-parliamentary organisations and interregional cooperation,” the senator said.
Jeyhun Bayramov noted that bilateral relations were at the highest level. He thanked the senator for inviting him to visit the Federation Council.
