PARLACEN representatives received Russian humanitarian supplies in Costa Rica

The humanitarian aid was prepared on instructions from the Speaker of the Federation Council following an appeal by the PARLACEN President.


The official ceremony of conveying Russian humanitarian supplies to representatives of the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN) took place in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica. 

The consignment consists of 100 Russian test systems and reagents for conducting 10,000 tests for detecting the new coronavirus infection in Central American Parliament member-states. 

The humanitarian aid was prepared on instructions from Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko after an appeal by PARLACEN President Nadia De Leon Torres. 

The Federation Council received significant support from the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Protection and Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) and also the Azur Air company which delivered the goods.

The Central American Parliament (PARLACEN) is an inter-parliamentary organisation uniting the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and El Salvador. The headquarters of the organisation is in Guatemala. 

President of PARLACEN Nadia De Leon Torres sent a letter of gratitude to Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko for the decision to send these particularly valuable humanitarian supplies.
