The Federation Council Deputy Speaker held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey in Russia.
Federation Council Deputy Speaker Iliyas Umakhanov held a meeting with the recently appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey in Russia Mehmet Samsar.
The meeting was attended by Murat Khapsirokov, member of the Federation Council Committee on the House Rules and Parliamentary Governance, head of the Federation Council Cooperation Group with the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
“You have come to Russia during an interesting time that opens up new prospects for bilateral cooperation and strengthens the successes we have already achieved,” noted Iliyas Umakhanov.
Iliyas Umakhanov stressed that the Turkish Embassy was actively cooperating with the Federal Assembly. “We are satisfied with the intensity and contents of our interparliamentary contacts, which provide an opportunity for us to coordinate our joint approaches at international parliamentary venues and engage in a quite intense bilateral dialogue.”
Mehmet Samsar noted that his appointment took place while Russia-Turkey bilateral relations were at their prime. “Our leaders have a close dialogue in all areas,” he said.
