Grigory Karasin met with representatives of the Economic and Social Council of the Central African Republic

The senator noted that Russian parliamentarians and African public organisations play an important role in strengthening cooperation in trade, the economy, investment and humanitarian affairs.


Chair of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Grigory Karasin held a meeting with President of the Economic and Social Council of the Central African Republic (CAR) Alfred Taïnga Poloko.

Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Vladimir Dzhabarov, First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State-Building Lyubov Glebova and representatives of the Russian Civic Chamber also took part in the talks.

Grigory Karasin stressed the friendly and partner-like nature of the relations between the Russian Federation and the Central African Republic.

“Russian parliamentarians and African public organisations play an important role in strengthening cooperation in trade, the economy, investment and humanitarian affairs,” the senator noted.

According to Alfred Taïnga Poloko, the parliaments and public organisations of Russia and the CAR must continue the course towards stronger relations as outlined by the presidents of the two countries.

The meeting participants had an in-depth and constructive exchange of opinions on a wide range of issues on the global and regional agendas.

They also discussed the further development of Russia-CAR cooperation, in particular in trade, the economy, investment and humanitarian affairs.

Preparations for the 2nd Russia-Africa Summit, scheduled for July 2023 in St Petersburg, were also reviewed.

Grigory Karasin gave Alfred Taïnga Poloko a copy of the Russian Federation Council Parliamentary Commission’s final report on the investigation into the operation of US biological laboratories on the territory of Ukraine.
