Russian parliamentarians highly appreciate the sovereign position that Serbia takes in international affairs, the Federation Council Deputy Speaker noted.
Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to the Russian Federation Momcilo Babic.
“We highly appreciate the sovereign position that Serbia takes in international affairs, despite the pressure from the West,” Konstantin Kosachev said.
According to the Federation Council Deputy Speaker, bilateral friendship groups are the most numerous both in the Russian and Serbian parliaments. “This is a clear indication of the quality and high level of relations.”
Konstantin Kosachev confirmed that the Russian parliamentarians were ready to develop inter-parliamentary cooperation in order to further strengthen bilateral ties.
During the meeting, Konstantin Kosachev and Momcilo Babic addressed some topics related to current international politics, including developments in the Balkans. The main emphasis was placed on Russian-Serbian cooperation in the socioeconomic sphere.
