Konstantin Kosachev: Parliamentarians from Russia and China will continue active interaction in 2019

The senator held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Russia


Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Konstantin Kosachev held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Russia Li Hui.

“The partner relations and strategic interaction with China remain a priority for Russia. Therefore, this meeting with the head of the Chinese diplomatic mission is a great opportunity to compare notes on bilateral cooperation, including between parliaments,” Konstantin Kosachev said.

The senator noted that there are no issues between Russian and Chinese lawmakers that would prevent further development and deepening of relations, interaction both at international platforms such as the UN, BRICS, the SCO, and the dialogue within the Eurasian Economic Union and the Russian-Chinese inter-parliamentary commission.

Li Hui also noted the intensive advancement of bilateral relations this year: “We are pleased with this success and achievements.”

According to the Ambassador, China highly appreciates the contribution that the Federation Council is making to the development of Russian-Chinese cooperation, and the Chinese Embassy in Russia is ready to provide the necessary assistance for this process.

During the conversation, Konstantin Kosachev and Li Hui outlined practical aspects of further interaction, and discussed some items on the inter-parliamentary visits plan.
